Joining Your Child for Lunch

If you plan on joining your child for lunch, please meet your child in the cafeteria at 11:30.  This will allow learning to continue in the classroom without distractions. If you plan on buying a school lunch, please let the office know by 9:00.

Birthday Treats at School

If you want to send birthday treats, please make sure they are store bought. We will sing to the birthday child and make them feel extra special on their birthday.

Party Invitations

Please do not send birthday invitations to school. Someone might accidentally get left out and there might be hurt feelings.

Classroom Volunteer Sign Up

Classroom volunteers will be asked to do various tasks to help support the teacher and students.  Please be on time and ready to help.  We ask that when you volunteer you leave cell phones turned off and leave younger siblings at home. This will allow you to be a focused volunteer.

We will have sign up sheets at the first parent/teacher conference.

Homework

Homework is sent home as a meaningful activity to support learning from the classroom at home.

Homework folders will go home every night.  Homework is to be completed and returned the next school day.  Incomplete homework will be completed by the student during recess time. If it is still not complete at that time, it will be completed after school in the classroom.

*Spelling tests will be on the last day of the week.

*Information from Seymour will come home on Thursdays.

Distractions

Please help your child's learning environment by limiting the distractions worn or brought to school.  Some examples are: silly bands, light up shoes, jewelry, hair accessories, toys and candy. If these items are distracting to your child, please encourage your child to keep them at home.

Absences

All class work missed during an absence or vacation will be collected and given to the student upon their return.

Good Things To Do

  • Please write their name on all lunch boxes, clothing and backpacks (Backpacks will be needed everyday).
  • Double tie their shoes. Please practice this skill at home.
  • Keep a jacket in their backpack. You never know when the weather will change.
  • Please have your child leave all toys at home, except when they are the “Star Student.”
